Racing Returns Saturday with Tammy Clegg Tribute and $2,000-to-Win UPLMS Show
This Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Ultimate Pro Late Model Series rolls into Tyler County Speedway for a $2,000-to-win feature event, alongside the 19th Annual Hot Mod Tammy Clegg Tribute, paying $800 to the winner. A full night of racing is scheduled, including Super Late Models, Modifieds, Sport Mods, Mod Lites, 4 Cylinders, and Mini Wedges.
Gates will open at 3:00 p.m., with Mini Wedge racing set to begin at 5:30 p.m. General admission is $20, with free entry for children ages 10 and under. Pit passes are $40, with children ages 5 and under admitted free. Registration and pill draw will run from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Beyond the on-track action, the evening serves as a heartfelt tribute to Tammy Clegg, a standout competitor and beloved figure in the local racing community. Clegg was a pioneer for women in the sport at Tyler County Speedway, known for her determination, competitive spirit, and deep passion for racing. “I love racing, I could race all night and into the next day. I pretty much live for Saturday,” Clegg once said—a sentiment that perfectly captured her dedication to the sport.
Her love of racing was rooted in family tradition and continues today through her son, Brian Clegg, as well as her brother, Travis Thomas, nephew Carson Thomas, and many cousins still active in the sport.
Tammy had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh—but when she hit the track, she meant business. Fierce behind the wheel, yet full of heart, Tammy balanced grit and grace like no other. Clegg left a lasting impression both on and off the track, as she was a devoted mother, friend, and role model.
Though she is deeply missed, Tammy’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all those who knew her. This weekend, the checkered flag flies in her honor.
