Tyler County Speedway gets resurfaced for an enhanced racing experience!

Tyler County Speedway is excited to share that we have resurfaced the racetrack to provide racers and fans with the best possible experience. As one of the premier dirt tracks in the region, we are committed to maintaining a high-quality racing surface that ensures competitive action, safety, and longevity.

Over time, dirt tracks naturally degrade due to weather, repeated use, and the shifting of the soil. [Normal weather, however, in 2024 the track faced multiple rainouts, not to mention the flooding in April which covered the track and pit area with several inches of water, causing damage to the entire area. Mother Nature lapped the speedway many times with her fascination of water last year.] Regular resurfacing is essential to keep the track in top condition. Our latest upgrades will enhance performance, improve safety, and create an even more thrilling atmosphere for our loyal fans.

With nearly ten inches of new clay, Tyler County Speedway offers a smoother, more consistent racing surface. By addressing ruts, holes, and uneven sections, drivers can expect improved traction and better handling, leading to intense, side-by-side battles and exciting finishes. These improvements will allow racers to push their limits while maintaining control, ensuring high-speed action every lap.

Improving Safety for Drivers and Spectators
Safety is always a top priority at Tyler County Speedway. A properly resurfaced track reduces hazards such as deep ruts, excessive dust, and unpredictable bumps that can lead to accidents. With our latest upgrades, drivers will experience better stability and visibility, leading to a safer and more controlled racing environment for everyone involved.

We understand the investment teams make in their racing equipment, and a well-maintained track helps reduce unnecessary wear and tear. Our resurfacing efforts will help extend the lifespan of tires, suspension components, and chassis, minimizing damage and keeping race cars in top condition throughout the season.

Enhancing Fan Experience
We want every visit to Tyler County Speedway to be unforgettable. A smoother racing surface means closer competition, more passing opportunities, and cleaner racing action. Additionally, dust control measures from resurfacing will enhance visibility, allowing fans to fully enjoy the heart-pounding excitement of every race. We understand excessive dust is always a concern for any track. We cannot guarantee but are truly hoping these enhancements will leave fans, not only with a better racing experience, but cleaner clothes and better breathing ability.

By resurfacing the track, we are ensuring that Tyler County Speedway remains a top-tier racing facility for years to come. Dirt tracks naturally erode due to weather and usage, but with consistent maintenance, we can keep our surface in peak condition. Our investment in resurfacing demonstrates our dedication to providing the best dirt racing experience in the region.

Special Thanks
It is estimated there were approximately 3000 tons of clay, or 160 dump truck loads dug and added to the track. The project took two full weekends and about a week and a half worth of evenings to complete, followed by two full days of grader work and sheep-foot rolling. The track resurfacing would not have been possible without the help of all the friends of the racetrack who donated equipment and spent countless hours working together for a better track surface.

Be sure to join us for our upcoming races and witness firsthand the difference our resurfaced track makes. See you at the Speedway!
