Tyler County Speedway ‘The baddest bullring in America’ has a new announcer, Brock Ruane, and we’d love for you to get to know him!

His pedigree is part legendary radio announcer and part visionary. To say he once entertained embracing the solicitude of an enigma would be an understatement! I’d say the best way to describe this dirt track racing savant would be to first look at where this sayer of dirt slinging mantras actually came from.

What is your background?
I worked as a communication specialist for over a decade in various forms of media. From writing radio and television ads to becoming a production director where I would produce radio commercials. I then went on to host various overnight, afternoon and eventually morning shows, in several radio markets and did voice-over work for Television.

Have you ever worked as a racetrack announcer before?
I have. I worked at a high-speed go-cart in the mid 1990’s for several years. For several years the track was very popular and became the flagship track for the nationals for a few years and attracted some legendary high-profile names. I remember seeing a 53’ hauler pulled in and the name ‘Petty’ was on the side. It turns out it was Richard Petty’s grandson. From which one of his children, I don’t know was pretty cool though.

Where do you live?
My wife and I live in Middlebourne, West Virginia and we absolutely love it here.

Do you have any other interests?
I sure do! I’m big into the cryptids, like Bigfoot and Mothman! I love things that go bump in the night. I tend to keep an open mind when it comes to things we were always told don’t exist. I like to read about it too. My wife and I actually opened up an AirBnB Called Bigfoot Ridge! It’s a 100% Bigfoot themed glamping experience. It’s a yurt on a huge platform overlooking Middle Island creek. It’s very Squatchy and our guests love it!

Will we see you every weekend at Tyler County Speedway?
Absolutely you will and I look forward to meeting all the race fans every weekend! I’m also looking forward to working with Steve Davis. After 30 years he decided to move on to spend more time with family and friends, and who can blame him. I know I have some pretty big boots to fill and I can assure the race fans that Steve’s legacy will never die. His legendary announcing style and smooth delivery will live on forever at Tyler Couty Speedway! I look forward to an epic 2025 dirt track season at The Baddest Bullring in America!
