‘Hybrid But Hefty’ MEGA 100 Weekend Set for Ohio Valley & Tyler County Speedway on May 29th & 30thadmin
🔥💥 $3,000 TO WIN “MOD MEGA” SAT. MAY 30TH! 💥🔥
(Middlebourne, WV) – With ongoing uncertainty surrounding the 2020 race season, some clarity was given recently for the home of the Dirt Modified Mega 100. Tyler County situated in the Northwest part of West Virginia has announced its return to racing. The ‘Mountain State’ has been given the green flag starting May 21st to open its pit gates with no general spectators.
Thus, opportunity has been created for the speedway to return to racing action. In doing so speedway officials have made the difficult decision to move the highly regarded “MEGA 100” from its original June 11th – 13th weekend to Friday and Saturday May 29th and 30th. After much thought the MEGA 100 ‘Weekend’ will roll off at both Ohio Valley Speedway and Tyler County Speedway respectively.
On Friday night May 29th the Ohio Valley Speedway in Washington, WV will open its gates and host the first night paying $2,000 to win for UMP DirtCar Modifieds. Then on Saturday May 29th teams will trek to Tyler County Speedway for the MEGA Finale paying $3,000 to win for UMP DirtCar Modifieds. As well, a preliminary modified event will take place on Thursday May 28th paying $1,000 to win as the undercard to DirtonDirt.com’s “Late Model Night in America” set to take place at Tyler County paying $5,000 to win.
Social distancing guidelines and safety practices will be in place for event go-ers. As it currently sits there will be no restrictions on the amount of participants on Friday and Saturday for Mods. On Thursday entries are limited to only 50 teams. However, we encourage teams to monitor the tracks Facebook pages for continued updates. The event is subject to change, amendments or cancellation with the addition of any news relating to Covid-19 or any future or further regulations, etc at any time.
“These are unique and difficult times that call for out of the box solutions. Unprecedented things are happening in racing and the world. We appreciate everyone’s patience in the matter” stated Cody Watson. “Furthermore, it was impossible to envision any scenario that would allow the MEGA 100 to continue as earlier scheduled” continued Cody Watson. “However, the new regulations do allow for dirt activities to take place and an opportunity embrace the current climate of racing. Therefore, we’ve decided it best to give modified teams and fans a great weekend of racing action, May 28th – 30th instead” concluded Watson.
