Renegade of Dirt Modified Tour Set For Exciting Four Night “Duel on Dirt” Speedweek!

(Middlebourne, WV) Ladies and Gents’ brace yourself for four straight nights of intense Renegade of Dirt Modified Tour action like you’ve never seen it before! The tours finest are at it again and when the guys and gals of the East’s elite series return to action the wicked warriors of open wheel will reconvene on four different dirt ovals in three different states during the extended June 13th-16th weekend. The grueling no holds barred four night task will challenge the regions best ‘mavericks of the mud’ to an all out duel on the dirt for a twelve hundred dollar top prize each evening and the ultimate title as the 2013 Speedweek Champion, the prestigious and hard fought honor up for grabs. On top of the great excitement of four straight nights will also be a new challenge for racers outside the current top ten in Renegade of Dirt point standings who try and out duel the East’s elite hotshoes. An extra $500 ‘bounty’ is on the line to participate and gun down the likes of Morehouse, Aukland, Wisecarver, Hartman, Kinkade, Strickler, D1ckson, Cook, D1ckson, and Watson each night. Sound easy eh? Well these gunslingers visit victory lane on a near weekly basis from New York clear down to North Carolina and travel the roads regularly in search for the highest rewards. The wickedest throttle stompers this side of the Mississippi make this task as tough as they come! For the Renegades they will be laying it all on the line to ensure they keep that from happening, if they do the top five in points after the weekend will each score an extra $100 additional funds to go with their four night earnings.

When the weekend gets underway for the resuming 2013 “Breaking Ground” tour its journey will continue where racers will return the the ¼ mile Bullring for the second time on the season where fifty eight participants last signed in for a shot at the tours history breaking “Let It Ride 55” just weeks ago that saw Nick Hoffman best the tours regulars for a $7555 payday. Memorial Day weekends big show has set the stage for a ‘curtain call’ from the action packed Renegade of Dirt Modified tour on Thursday June 13th. The Tyler County Speedway will also continue to play host to history with the 25th running of the Earl Hill Memorial a $4,000 to win Super Late Model show as the first stop of the Icon Memorial Tour Late Model Speedweek.

The tour will then travel to the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH for the first time in 2013 after its original scheduled trip was rained out in early April. Last years 2012 Renegade of Dirt Champion Bobby Kitchen dominated the Renegades past trip to the facility in sealing the tours inaugural championship for the 2Brother Motorsports team last fall. When the Renegades roll into town you can bet the action will heat up for modified supremacy at the ‘racey’ 3/8 mile dirt oval, with the some of the areas/countries best expected to be in attendance on Friday June 14th. Fans will also be treated to a $4,000 to win Super Late Model show during the weekend as the annual “Freedom Fighters 40” awaits eager 800+ horsepower full fender participants.

On June 15th, racers will then be greeted to another first, the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour will journey to the Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway and participate on the monster ½ mile Imperial, PA based facility for crucial tour points on night #3 of the Duel on Dirt Speedweek and Icon Memorial Tour. The speedway is rich in tradition as one of the Ohio Valley’s all-time greats and has witnessed fifty seven different modified race winners since 1992, including a season high of thirteen by veteran racer Larry Kugel.

Lastly, the tour will return to the West Virginia Motor Speedway for second time in 2013 on Sunday June 16th for an epic speedweek finale battle. The spectacular conclusion of four straight nights will culminate into a last battle at the 4/10′s mile ‘Speedplant’ that is sure to produce a full night of adrenaline pumping speed when the Renegade tour combines with the Icon Tour Super Late Model division as they too settle their weekend champion at the Mineral Wells, WV based dirt oval. Regularly reaching speeds of 100mph race fans adorning the fan friendly terraced hillside will be treated to a sequel of the great action like they witnessed upon the tours first ever visit back in April.

“We have some of the finest and most professional race teams in the country right here in the Ohio Valley” stated Cody Watson. “This will give them an opportunity to run a four night “DUEL” to slug it out for ultimate bragging rights and allow us to showcase their talent to four facilities and three different states over the weekend. Lots of our area racers eye parts of the cou
ntry that are running four and five nights a week during the summer and longed for that opportunity, therefore we wanted to give that unique feel and experience to our Eastern racers and are excited to make that happen in 2013” concluded Watson.

Meanwhile, the remainder of the field who does not qualify directly into the main event will turn to Sunday evening’s last chance showdown’s to earn their spot into either the generous twenty-five car “Let it Ride 55” field or the twenty car ModFury.com “Non-Qualifier”. Racers will also be gunning for the weekend’s “Hard Charger Award” that will guarantee the events top passer at least an additional $1000 in contingencies for his efforts. When its all said and done well over $50,000 in event purse, bonuses, and contingencies will be up for grabs including at least $755 dollars to twenty five participants, $255 to a minimum forty five entries, and at least $155 dollars in guaranteed travel money to all eligible open wheel competitors.

The intense four day May 23rd through 26th event will once again be part of one of motorsports best deals of the season. The full weekend slate will also feature and open practice for the Renegade of Dirt Modifieds and the wicked World Of Outlaw Late Model Dirt Series on Thursday night in which the nationally know Super Late Model tour will be making their only trip to the “Bullring” in 2013. The EDGE Hotmods will also join in the weekend festivities with a pair of $300 to win shows on Thursday and Sunday nights and the always intense STARS Modified Lites will duel it out for a duo of $700 to win shows on Thursday and Saturday evenings. Renegade of Dirt “Rookie of the Year” Contender, Amanda Stiffler Is Taking A Stand!
Avid member of the RAD program, Stiffler seeks to provide awareness to racing’s youth!

(Middlebourne, WV) As race fans from all over prepare to make their way to Tyler County Speedway’s action packed Memorial Day weekend, Renegade Tour officials are pleased to announce yet another exciting opportunity for race fans of all ages to take part in during the week-end ‘s esteemed line up of entertainment.

Fifteen year old, Renegade of Dirt “Rookie of the Year” contender, and second generation racer Amanda Stiffler of Farmdale, Ohio is not only passionate about her on track activity, she’s also very fervid about her off track responsibilities as part of the ‘youth’ of Auto Racing. Amanda excels in her actions of doing both very well, and is a national spokesperson for the Race Against Drugs http://www.ncprs.org/radHome.htm when not running side by side with the “guys” on dirt ovals all across the OH-WV-PA Tri-State area.

Racers Against Drugs (RAD) is the largest racing volunteer network dedicating their time as role model’s to young fans to follow their lead and live drug free, healthy lives by Fueling a Drug Free Future! The goals of the RAD organization and their spokespersons are to reach and educate our nation’s youth by advocating through motorsports professionals a drug free healthy lifestyle. Their primary focus has been to establish and maintain a large volunteer network that distributes materials designed to raise awareness and encourage discussion about drug abuse and change the attitudes and perceptions of our nation’s youth.

Amanda’s involvement with RAD started at age 14 , and being a teen in high school she knows all too well about the peer pressures, and negative influences America’s youth face daily in school and life.

I was excited to be a spokesperson for RAD so that I could show other teens, like myself, that we can together rise above the bad influences and peer pressures and that there are far better opportunities and things than drugs and alcohol. I love being a role model and helping other kids like me reach for better things and say ‘no’ to drugs.” stated, Stiffler.

Amanda is more than excited to use her racing career to be a positive influence to her peers, ” I have been blessed with the opportunity to live a dream and while I have thankfully never taken drugs, I can assure you NO drug can match the high of racing wide open into turn one. I just want kids to know that no matter what they want to do in life, they can do it if the make the right decisions and stand up for what is right.” concluded, Stiffler.

As part of the stellar weekend of events and activities offered to fans at this years Renegade of Dirt Modified Tour “Let It Ride 55”, on Saturday May 25, 2013 from 2:00pm-4:00pm Amanda will be bringing along her 500+ horsepower #14 Open Wheel Modified to vender’s alley behind the main grandstands and will be there to visit with young fans, sign autographs, give away many fun things for children and teens as well as information on the dangers of drugs.

She will encourage young fans to pledge with her to be drug free by signing her RAD pledge book. Each young fan eighteen and under that signs her pledge book will receive a ticket and be entered to win either a 1/24 scale or 1/64 scale die cast of Amanda’s RAD Modified sponsored by American Diecast Company out of Saxonburg, PA http://www.american-diecast.com/ . There will be a total of four diecast cars given away to ticket holders at intermission of the event on May 25th.

This is a wonderful thing, in today’s world where drugs are prevalent among the schools and in the teenage environment it’s great to see kids who are using their passions towards also providing an opportunity to pass out details on living a drug free lifestyle” stated Tour director, Cody Watson. “We are glad to have Amanda on the tour and to see her reaching out and spending time making kids aware through the RAD program, volunteering her time on a race day and not just being “to busy” to make a difference” concluded Watson.

Make plans to get to the Bullring early on Saturday to meet Amanda and be part of and support a drug free future and for much more information regarding the huge Memorial Weekend at the new Tyler County Speedway follow them online at www.tylercountyspeedwayonline.com, phone 304-771-6874 or 304-771-5051 or 304-758-2660 on Raceday, email any questions to info@tylercountyspeedwayonline.comor follow us via social media on Facebook and Twitter.

However, in just six days participants will be granted the opportunity to earn a guaranteed starting spot into the Arizona Sport Shirts A-Main on May 26th at this coming weekend’s “Let it Ride 55” qualifier night at the Tyler County Speedway. The Saturday evening winner will be treated to an absolute huge sigh of relief knowing their efforts will automatically enter them into the fifty-five lap main event if they are unable to race their way in on the following weekend. The guaranteed starting position on top of the regular race night purse will mean racers that enter the “Ring” on May 18th will be battling it out for at least a $1355 dollar top prize. It is noted that if the winner qualifies himself into the “Let It Ride 55” through his heat race or consolation event the provisional will be acknowledged throughout the entire qualifying event finishing field. (ex. 1St, 2nd, 3rd, 4th place all race their way into the “Let it Ride 55” the 5th place participant from May 18th‘s A-Main will be award the eligible provisional into the “Let it Ride 55” A-Main.

When you go out to qualify and run your heat it will be that much more comforting knowing “it’s” there if you need it” concluded Watson.

Renegade officials want to remind everyone that the support they get from participants is what allows promoters and race tracks to offer the big purse’s and premier events. “When the support is there everyone wins” added Tyler Speedway promoter, John Watson. “The racers win at the pay window, the promoter wins at the gate, and the fans win when they are treated to an incredible show. It just can’t be stressed enough that when everyone supports each other the opportunities become available and good things will continue to happen” concluded Watson.

Saturday night May 18th will also feature a packed night of stock car racing in five other divisions at “The Bullring” each awarding the winner a shot at automatically qualifying into their own version of a Memorial Weekend special. The J&R Excavating Super Late Models presented by Midcap Land & Timber will be running for a guaranteed spot in Sunday’s $15,000 to win World of Outlaw Late Model Series A-Main. The Peoples Bank Fastrak Late Models will be gunning for a lucrative spot in the $2000 to win Fastrak Northeast Touring Series main event. The Chris Metz State Farm Insurance Modified Lites will be gunning for the chance to start in not one but BOTH nights of intense STARS ModLite action in which they will earn the provisional spot in Thursday’s $700 to win A-Main, but also be guaranteed into Saturday nights $700 to win A-Main. The EDGE Hotmods will also be running for a provisional into a dual feature format on Memorial Weekend in which the spot will guarantee them into the $300 to win special on Thursday night and again into the $300 to win feature only event on Sunday night in front of the capacity crowd.

Once again with early season cool temps still lingering a fan friendly gesture of starting an hour earlier to get fans back home at a reasonable time is being implemented by track management. Gates will open at 3, with hotlaps and qualifying starting at 6 and racing getting underway at 7. Management continues to excel in time management with the Late Model feature guaranteed to hit the track by 9:30 each and every week this season.

Full Speed Ahead For World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Jackpot 100′ May 25-26 At Tyler County Speedway

Hometown Racing Association Takes Control Of Holiday-Weekend Racing & Concert After Cancelation Of ‘Bullring Bonanza’ Raffle

By Kevin Kovac, WoO LMS P.R. Director

MIDDLEBOURNE, WV – May 10, 2013 – Thanks to John Watson and the Hometown Racing Association, the huge World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Jackpot 100′ doubleheader on May 25-26 at Tyler County Speedway is steaming full speed ahead.

Any uncertainty about the status of the national tour’s Memorial Day weekend visit to the quarter-mile oval in the hills of West Virginia following last week’s cancelation of the ‘Bullring Bonanza’ mega-raffle by the Tyler County Fireman’s Association due to lack of ticket sales was erased by a quick response from Watson and Co.

“The Jackpot 100 is our big Memorial Day weekend event,” said Watson, who heads the Hometown Racing Association group that was formed to operate Tyler County Speedway this season. “We want to have this weekend feature World of Outlaws racing for a long time to come, so canceling this whole race because the Fireman’s Association’s plans for the ‘Bonanza’ raffle did not work out would not have been good for the future.

“Our goal is to make sure this World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at Tyler County Speedway continues to build in the coming years, so, after sitting down with everyone on the Hometown Racing Association, we decided to step up and take over the promotion and running of the racing and concert portions of the weekend.”

Even with the cancelation of the ‘Bonanza’ mega-raffle, there is still a spectacular lineup of entertainment that the Hometown Racing Association will administer over the Memorial Day weekend. In addition to the $100,000-plus WoO LMS doubleheader – a 30-lap, $6,000-to-win A-Main on Sat., May 25, and a 70-lap finale paying $15,000 to win on Sun., May 26 – the group will also oversee a preliminary night of racing on Thurs., May 23, that includes support-division qualifying and the much-anticipated country concert on Fri., May 24, featuring Colt Ford, Justin Moore and Zack Paxson.

Admission to all four nights of the Tyler County holiday spectacular is included in a single super ticket being sold for $80. The tickets, which also include pit admission, can be purchased in advance by calling the ticket hotline at 304-771-5661 or 304-771-4883. Single-day tickets for admission to the races and concert are also being sold.

Fans who purchased $100 ‘Bullring Bonanza’ raffle tickets can use them as all-access pass tickets to the three nights of racing and the country concert (they will also receive a $20 refund), or they will be refunded their entire $100 purchase price if they can’t attend the weekend’s events.

“Where else can you go for $80 and get the caliber of entertainment that we’ll have at Tyler County Speedway on Memorial Day weekend?” concluded Watson.

Watson and the Hometown Racing Association are working hard within a short time frame to present the weekend, which also includes the $7,555-to-win ‘Let It Ride 55′ for the Renegades of Dirt Modifieds Tour and a $2,000-to-win Fastrak Crate Late Model event. Both the Dirt Modified and Crate Late Model races will be contested in conjunction with the WoO LMS doubleheader on May 25-26.

“We’re thrilled to have two nights of World of Outlaws racing as well as the Renegade Dirt Modified show and the Fastrak race,” said Watson. “It means a lot to us, the fans and everyone in Tyler County to have a huge national-level racing event like this

“We know that a lot of people have vacation plans to come to Tyler County Speedway over the Memorial Day weekend,” he continued. “We didn’t want to ruin people’s plans by canceling the weekend and have them get a bad outlook on Tyler County Speedway because of it. We realized that, for the good of the fans, the racers, the track and all the businesses in the county that benefit from the race, we had to push on with the event and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

Derek Doll Grabs 39th Annual Season Opener at the Bullring

(Middlebourne, WV)  A cool and crisp evening awaited the Tyler County Speedways faithful for the 39th Annual Season Opener.  A pit full of racers and a nice crowd of brave souls weathered the frigidly cool temps as the green flag would officially wave on the 2013 season.

An awesome opening ceremony would set the tone for a highly competitive evening of action as the Tyler County Speedway paid a special tribute to Veterans and last seasons track champions before local singer Nancy Kester would perform a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

A quick moving program would see the first checkered flag of the season waive at 9:20 for the J&R Excavating Super Late Model division presented by Midcap Land and Timber.  Young Derek Doll of nearby Greenwood, WV piloting the infamous Doll Bros. machine pull off a clean sweep as he would click off the fast time of the evening, garner a hard fought heat race win and go on to pick up his first win of the young season.  Rounding out the top five were Paul Wilmoth, Sonny Conley, Butch McGill and Daniel Hill.

In the Peoples Bank FASTRAK Late Model division it was the reigning 2012 EDGE champion, Kyle Thomas of Pennsboro, WV picking up where he left off garnering the workmanlike victory after marching from his 7th place start.  Following Thomas across the strip were Joel Prosser, early race leader Bill Shaffer, Mike Griffin and Brian Baumberger.

Perennial ‘bullring’ modified ace Mike “Bird” Wilson would notch victory #1 of the season at the Tyler County Speedway aboard the familiar unsponsored #20.  Wilson would have to work diligently to outmuscle early race leader Tommy Powell as the duo would race several laps side beside before Wilson was able to pull away and snare the win.  Rounding out the top 5 were Powell, Gerald Deitch, Kurt Burge and Devin Verardi.

In the race of the night, a strong field of 21 EDGE Hotmods squared off with Cheshire, Ohio’s Mike Conkle out dragging race long leader Kenny “Radar” Isner coming out of turn 4 on the last lap to pick up the early hard fought victory.  A wild mid race battle would ensue as Isner, Conkle, Travis Thomas and Chad Smith would race high and low swapping lanes and passes as they fought thru lapped traffic in classic ‘bullring’ fashion.  When the dust cleared however it was Conkle picking up the elusive first win of the 2013 campaign.

A strong contingent of Chris Metz State Farm Insurance ModLites took the green with Beallsville, OH’s 34n of Josh Baldwin crossing the stripe first.  Eighth starting Tommy Keplinger would finish second, followed by Mitch Ward, 2012 track champion Brandon Fluharty and Jeff Fornash.

Kicking off the program was Zack Carr piloting the #7 picking up the MWRA feature followed by Georgie Tennant, Jacob Ice, Kaitlyn Frazier and Kylee Cross.

Be sure to join us next Saturday Night at the Bullring for Family Feast Night….so bring the kids as they will receive a voucher for a hotdog, chips and drink.  Plus it’s “Gold Rush” night for the youngsters at intermission.  General admission is priced at $12, Pits $26 and children 10 and under are free.  Gates open at 3, action gets underway at 6!  For more information visit us online at www.tylercountyspeedwayonline.com .
